– Every once in a while, and especially when you want your dog’s attention, call out his new name and then immediately smile, give a sincere compliment, and offer a treat.
– Even if he doesn’t turn to look at you when you call your name, do any of the above, and he will soon learn that hearing that word means great things are coming, and he’ll respond. as if the word was his own. !
